PDF is one of the most widely used apps today mostly for commercial purposes (more often than not when you buy goods online, you find them talking about the terms and conditions). I am not here to explain what a PDF is, as most of you’ll will be knowing. PDF and Adobe Acrobat are inseperable for many. They think its one and the same – hey, folks hold on, that’s not the case! Adobe Acrobat is a brand name but there are others in the market too.
I tried out Foxit Reader and personally think that it has the potential to beat the all-so-popular brand name in the immediate future. Talk about speed performance and space occupation it beats the latter right, left and center! The installation file is just 1.7 MB while Adobe Acrobat is 20.8 MB. Its reliable too, apart from being simple and user friendly.
About Foxit – The program is simple to use and has a simple, straightforward look. It has several toolbars like search tool, rotating, image snapshot, text selection, zoom, etc. We can deactivate the small advertisement on the upper corner by clicking the deselect advertisement option, which I think is a very good option as you need not bother about those irritating pop-ups from time to time.
Other features that are worth mentioning – It comes with PDF conversion and PDF edition, which you do not have to search separate software for these options. it helps to edit the PDF files and convert word documents into PDF files. There is also an option for the users to install virtual printer driver, which it serves them to convert any type of windows application.
Ease of use, less space and plenty of feartures puts Foxit on the pedestal for me. You can try it out instead of Adobe next time and see for yourself. Let me know if you think otherwise!
